Holiday Cozy Meets Sparkle & Shine

The Holiday season is here and there is always an event of some sort to attend. There’s a few factors that come into play when choosing an outfit:

Where are you going?

How dressy is it?

Is it in the budget to buy something new that you may never wear again?

What’s in my closet?

I decided to come up with a look that is somewhere in between “holiday cozy” and “sparkle and shine .”

I had a sparkly strapless dress that I wore to a summer destination wedding. It had been in my closet for a second. I wanted to give it new life, so I paired it with a classic cushy sweater and my “go to” chain belt. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a chain belt.

The belt will cut down on the volume in the sweater, classic black boots and fun accessories. The result - an easy and stylish look.  

*P.S. If you are shy about wearing sparkly, shiny and bold pieces mixing them with classic pieces to anchor them will temper the the shine and provide a little balance. If you’re not afraid of shiny and bold toning the sparkle down with a more basic piece will give you an excuse to wear sequins at 1 o’clock in the afternoon because it’s Tuesday and that’s how you roll!
